This English edition of Lenin’s A Characterisation of Economic Romanticism is reproduced from the edition published by Progress Publishers, Moscow. It was written in spring 1897 and first published in the magazine Novoye Slovo, (issues 7–10, April–July 1897).
It was reprinted in the miscellany Economic Studies and Essays by Vladimir Ilyin, 1898. The edition from Progress Publishers was published according to the text of the miscellany Economic Studies and Essays, checked with the text in Novoyo Slovo and that in the miscellany The Agrarian Question by Vladimir Ilyin, 1908. The notes in the book were included in the P.P. edition.
